Register via the Patuxent Lapidary Guild website or email the instructor, Eric Hoffman, at ephoffman@upcyclist.com at least 10 days in advance to allow ordering of materials. A minimum of 2 students is required for this class to run, and class size will be limited to 8 students. Instruction fees are due at registration, and materials fees are due at the start of the class. Your place will be reserved when you register and pay the instruction fee. Please see the website for our cancellation policy.
Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations received by participants more than 10 days prior to the event will result in a full refund of class and materials fees, minus a $25 processing fee.

Cancellations received 10 or fewer days prior to the event will result in no refund, and the materials fee will still be due to the instructor within 10 days of the class's end (because any materials have already been ordered for the participant by this time).

Cancellations by the PLG or instructor will result in an opportunity to reschedule or a refund, as determined by the participant.

Students will learn the basics of mounting a round faceted stone into a 4-prong pendant setting. We will also go over similar setting types, other stone shapes, finishing techniques, and advanced tools. 

Fees:

Class fee: $80, payable by credit card or PayPal when you register (see below).

Materials fee: $45, payable with cash, check (made out to Eric Hoffman), Paypal, Venmo, Cashapp, or whatever gets the instructor his lunch money. Materials include an 8mm round white CZ, a Sterling silver 4-prong pendant, a square-tipped burnisher, a pair of stone setting pliers, and a 5mm 90° Hart bur.

Requirements: Bring your own silversmithing tools and an Optivisor if you have them.
